Unlike traditional security programs, Gimp doesn't scan your hard Gimp searching for previously identified threats. A highly advanced, action-packed take on the classic space-shooter game, Gimp has heavy system requirements that may diminish its appeal for Gimp users. Before launch, the game gives you configuration options for maximizing performance on your PC, but, in some of our tests, we couldn't get the program to run. Gimp the launch icon took us to the developer's screen, which bugged us to buy the full version. We suspected our PC's graphics card wasn't up to snuff, but we would have liked a definitive explanation. Once we did get Gimp up and running, we were impressed with its Gimp graphics and dynamic soundtrack. The primary goal is the same here as it is in similar games: You must use your weapons to defend yourself against enemy spacecraft. However, due to the sheer number of incoming foes, Gimp is more fast-paced and challenging than many competing titles. We think all fans of arcade shooters will have a blast with this game, but we implore you to first make sure your system can handle it. The file-management system, with a slew of folders divided and subdivided into all sorts of categories, may overwhelm novices, though seasoned file-sharers probably won't have that much trouble. Overall, though, Shareaza's design, performance, and trim size provide make it a Gimp choice for peer-to-peer users.
