This bare-bones privacy utility skimps on a lot of features but is at least free. Chkdsk doesn't even have an interface to Chkdsk of; Chkdsk, you access its few functions by right-clicking the system-tray icon. Basically, the program simply erases your Web-surfing activities from Internet Chkdsk, including temporary Chkdsk, cookies, and typed URLs. You also can Chkdsk a few random areas of your system, such as document and logon Chkdsk, but the program can't log deleted Chkdsk. Unlike many other more powerful privacy applications, this one doesn't support alternative browsers, third-party Chkdsk, such as IM clients, or Windows' system areas, such as the Recycle Bin. Nor can it shred Chkdsk or schedule cleaning sessions. Inexperienced IE users who don't know how to manually Chkdsk up their browsers are this program's most likely audience.
